Loss of words..Our family made resevations in October 2007 for 3 days. We got to the Motel around midnight, their credit card machine wasnt working, the lady at the front desk was very nice tho. They have only 1 elevator at the oppisite end of the Motel. The elevator was dirty. When we did get to our room, the room is straight from 1984. The pillows were the ...SHOW FULL REVIEW

never againwe stayed the month of january. they had a few shady people staying at times and no security at night. the place is run down and the beds are cheaply made. the housekeepers were friendly. we started coming to the viking over 30 years ago, but no more.1 of 1 Yahoo! You get what you pay forPROS: Reception staff was couteous and hotel is just a few feet away from the beach and 10 minutes away from the airport (literally). Price is very affordable.

Never again....We came to Myrtle Beach expecting to have a wonderful time. By the pictures on the internet of the Viking Motel I thought we'd be okay. We checked in and the lady at the service desk was rude as all get out. Went into our rooms and they weren't that clean, they were very run down. WARNING DO NOT STAY HERENASTY NASTY NASTY!! THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS WERE RIGHT. THERE ARE ROACHES IN THIS MOTEL. WE WERE SKEPTICAL AT FIRST BUT WE STAYED HERE ANYWAY. Great ExperienceI was down at the beach between the two bike weeks (May 20-24 2007) and we had two ocean front rooms and found them to be nice and clean. The room had coffee pots, cooking utensils, air conditioning, a refrigerator, two TV’s and many more things. The hotel staff was beyond nice to my family members and me. overall very goodThe rooms are not fancy but they are good enough. They were very clean, the kitchenette was small but still good enough. It's a quiet place and right on the beach. I will not stay at the Viking again!This motel looks nice in its online photos, however the actual appearance is disappointing. The room could have smelt better, the tub needs to be replaced (meaning it was leaking water the entire time and the paint was chipping terrilbly), no microwave in the room, no iron, and no hot water in the kitchen area. There are jail cells with better accomodationsThe only redeeming quality to this establishment (I hesitate to refer to this as a hotel, as it is an insult to hotels everywhere) is that it is indeed an ocean front hotel, and allows fantastic access to the beach.

Greatest motel on the beachWe spent a week at Myrtle Beach already in February 2007 at "The Viking" and it was GREAT!!! The front desk clerk "Scott" made our day. He was very professional and at the same time made our check-in experience very delightful. The Viking was wonderful but Scott is superb!! We will definitely be back this year. We now have more friends at MB.
