I've been many times to stay at The Anchorage with my Mom for mother-daughter getaways. It's a lovely establishment in a beautiful location. The hot tubs are great even in the midst of winter!

Absolutely loved it!!

This is one of the nicest places to stay in Ogunquit. There is a very large outdoor pool and very large hot tub- we spent every evening in it! The location is perfect- right on the Marginal Way and easy walking distance to either Perkins Cove or downtown. The poolside cafe is very convenient and delicious. We've been there twice and would not hesitate to stay there again!

Beautiful Spot

We love staying at the Anchorage, but we found it very disappointing that we could not have our grandchildren come and spend a day at the pool with us. This cost is $20. per person to use the pool and this is nonsense. Tget more then enough revenue from what we pay to stay here.

Pleasant experience

My husband and I drove up to Maine after a family wedding in Vermont, and stayed at the Anchorage. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, very clean room, and spectacular views, from even the ground floor. The hotel is in a great location for walking into town, or to the beach. I wish we had been avle to stay longer, can't wait to go back.

Great location, nice motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/06
Although a bit pricey, the Anchorage by the Sea is a nice place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the grounds and view(s)are beautiful. I'm a bit surprised to see several other reviews commenting on the size of the rooms and cleanliness (it's not the Ritz Carlton folks, so get over it). As for the treatment of children, there ...

A Memorial Weekend to Remember
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/06
My fiancee and I just spent a glorious weekend at the Anchorage and can't wait to go back. I first want to commend Russell for speaking up to the woman about her loud and misbehaved kids. If it was necessary for him to say something they must have been pretty bad. We found our King room immaculate and the grounds an absolute pleasure to ...

Very Kid Friendly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/06
Me and my family have been coming to the Anchorage for 27 years now and this is the friendliest (including children), exciting, clean, and relaxing place there is. I am a personal friend of Russel (the manager) and for him to get upset at children, they have had to be doing something very disruptive or have been behaving in an inappropriate ...

Wonderful place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/06
We had walked by on previous trips to Ogunquit but never thought we could afford such a nice place. I am glad we checked it out. It was affordable as well as luxurious and so close to everything. The staff was wonderful. We can't wait to go back.

keep kids in car when registering
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/06
In response to the "Gobbi" complaint, please, leave the kids in the car while you sign in. It sometimes takes a while, and is very hard for management to concentrate. I have been there at least 5 times with young children and always had them wait in the car with their mother. As wonderful as you think your children are- if they can't ...
