Stay awayWe are from the area originally and went back to visit..unfortunately for a funeral. Accomodations were dirty, and rooms smelled like smoke. we refused the rooms so they charged us for the three days stay anyways..we are looking into that...but very dreadful service, no care attitude. Caution-cancellation policy cost me $$We 4 family members reserved 2 rooms for 2 days here Jul 11 & 12th, 2008 but 2 of us were unable to take the trip due to illness. My brother requested cancellation of 1 room when he arrived @ 4:00 pm day of check-in and was informed he was responsible for the full cost of both rooms for the full term. Unfortuantely not much else aroundWe arrived late in the winter afternoon and thought the place was closed. We went in and found that the owner hadn't turned any lights on outside for parking area and front door as well as signs on road. Cold and abrasive women served us. Affordable, great gateway to the priceless areaMy extended family and I visit North Hatley each year for a family gathering and we stay at La Paysanne. The lodging is perfect and the cost is the best. Staff are friendly and ensure your stay is all it can be. And, food in the restaurant is good.
