The Essenhaus is just fantastic. We stayed there for one night on our way down to Nashville and liked it so much that we decided to book a night for our return trip as well. It was so warm--bright wallpaper and colors, cheery staff, and a homey feel--that it begged for a return trip.

My wife and I stumbeld across the Essenhaus in 1985 while on my way back from Indianapolis,At the time it was small and fairly newer,we started to drive by and I stopped and turned around to take a look. We went inside and were blown away.This place was beautiful,They have really grown over the years and we have been back about 8 times,great people,great food,A++++++++,Highly suggested!!

Our children live in the area so we visit the area frequently. It is a beautiful hotel. It is very clean and inviting. I think that it is the nicest hotel that we have ever stayed in. It has a beautiful breafast area and large pool for families.

We loved the kind people and beautiful hotel and area. We can't wait to go back and explore all the shops. The homemade food was wonderful. The atmosphere was very relaxed. There was a wonderful breakfast in the morning that was included.

We enjoyed our stay so much this summer, that we already booked to go back over Thanksgiving weekend! The whole family loved it! The service was great. The continental breakfast was wonderful. The kids loved the pool. My husband and I loved the jacuzzi. Fun for all! A must stay at hotel for anyone visiting that area!

At Das Dutchmen Essenhaus I was completely overwhelmed by the service with a smile. A genuine interest in the customers satisfaction. The whole atmosphere, even in the gift shop area was sweet. This hotel and restraunt was excellent. My family and I have come to Shipshewanna every year for the ten, and then we missed it for the past three years due to family complications. We have stayed at the Essenhaus only once before and it was wonderful then, but it was such a great reward this year to come to such a great place. Thank you to the Essenhaus staff!

We have enjoyed the peace & quiet that we have found at Das Essenhaus. The winter specials that include a meal for two at the restaurant is an exceptional value that we taken advantage of for the last 5 years. The new conference center is a plus other than the high back chairs are not as comfortable for playing games as the chairs in the older part of the inn. Overall, we love the place and hope to get-away to there for years to come.
