We stayed at the Hapuna Beach Hotel in April 2009. It was wonderful; we paid for a partial ocean view which was the best partial ocean view we have ever had. There was another wing of the hotel in front of us, but we could still see tons of ocean and beach. They have very nice size balconies, two chairs, a lounge chair and table. We arrived at the ...

it is the best ever i loved it you need to go to it and the beach is amazing. we wee going to move her and this even made us want to more.
This was one of the few places with beach amenities. Snorkeling with fish and turtles is right there, no need to drive somewhere. The whole vacation was perfect. It is one of the best places to visit. This May we will be going back for the third time! That says a whole lot right there.
We stayed at the Hapuna Beach Resort for 7 nights this January, 2008. The main part of the hotel is very impressive. Open to the beautiful Hawaiian weather and ocean views. The staff was great; cordial and responsive to our needs throughout our stay. The hotel and the rooms are very clean. The lawns and gardens are manicured to within an inch of ...

The front desk help and service throughout was wonderful and very accomadating. Very private, although I could hear next-door neighbors partying. But stopped before 10pm. Family-friendly. Patrons conservatively dressed- that was a great plus! I hope to return soon. Loved the hawaiian band.
We love everything about this resort. Going back in Feb 2008 and can't wait. The pool is great - the beach is great - the food is excellent - staff is terrific. Can't wait to get back.

My husband and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary in May 2007. From the minute we arrived the hotel staff treated us like we were family friends staying at their own home. Everyone from the restaurant manager to the front desk staff were so attentive to our needs. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the pool is just as amazing. The ...
This was a place my husband & I went for special weekend away from our jobs in Hilo and of course the rain, especially in the winter months. Everytime I see an advertisement for the Kohala Coast, I long to be sitting at on the lanai or the beach at sunset. We miss Hawaii!! Of course we moved to have more secure jobs in Seattle. But we will be visiting Hawaii this fall. Aloha =:)

I agree, it's NO Mauna Kea
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/07
Disappointing in every respect.
Tired and dark looking at best and decrepit at worst.
With the Mauna Kea closed (and her staff available), one would think that all stops would be pulled to make it an exceptional and pleasing experience during this time - to maintain/build good will. One would be wrong.
