I checked into the Ocean Plaza on Thursday for 1 day. When I checked in I was afraid that the hotel would be shabby and rank based on the reviews that I read. What didn't I like! eveything is always great. the staff is friendly and always helpful. The rooms are clean and very roomy. The restaurant has the best seafood. There's two pools to enjoy. My wife and I spent New Year's Eve and Day down there.The view was great and the New Year's Eve Party was good. We got to watch fireworks from the window of the bar. The rooms were clean and spacious. My only regret is we had to leave and go back to our hectic lives.

The view of the ocean was great from the restaurant and the upper floor of the ocean front rooms. The rooms were clean if a little old. The food at the restaurant was continental and it was good. However these took a back seat to the view and the beach which is why you come to Tybee. They just refurbished the beach and it looks great. The city should control the sand dunes. They are almost 2 stories high, however this is no fault of the hotel.

I had a great stay at this hotel. I do not know where all of the negative remarks are coming from, but my hotel room was clean and the employees were very nice. The view from my ocean front hotel room was great.
