The lobby was sparse in décor, clearly attempting minimalism. It felt more L.A. than beach, I’d say. The wait at reception was entirely unacceptable for a 4-star resort. The room was clean and spacious; however, there was no refrigerator. Again, an amenity that a 4-star hotel should have. There was Fuji water for $6.00 a bottle in the room, ...
The service and staff were accomodating and prompt. Even brought us up a bandaid when my daughter cut her toe, then followed up 30 minutes later by phone to ensure she was ok. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated for a beach-like resort. Request a room on the 3rd floor for the best views. The rooms lacked a ...
The room was clean and spacious. The smell of disinfectant was overwhelming. There was nothing to keep your drinks cool. The $355.00 + $20.00 for self parking+ 25.44 for room tax. You must request a room with a view for the same price. $727.34 for two days. The food at the hotel was okay and service good. Children do run wild.

Surprised it's not all 5 stars
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/07
i am really surprised that anybody had anything negative to say about this hotel. I have visted san diego twice before but the hotels that i have stayed at before are nothiing like the marriott's. Only TWO of the three pools are heated, but in the warm weather, you don't need it anyway. Will return!!!!!

Dissapointing

Another example of Marriot resting on it's laurels. The Marriott name used to mean first class. More recently, it has come to mean past accomplishments as thier properties are not being kept up. This property is old and needs updating. It's almost as if they are purposely not putting money into it, because they know they are going to ...

the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. i would stay there again.
I am always pleased when visiting Marriott hotels - especially Courtyard by Marriott. This was my 'first' Marriott resort visit, I received a nice 'upgrade' to a bay view in a bungalow-type setting. It felt more like a home more than being in a hotel, we could just walk right out of our patio onto the strand and take pictures etc. - ...

Going back this summer!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/16/06
I first stayed at this hotel a few years ago and absolutely loved it. The hotel and grounds were gorgeous, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and were more than happy to offer directions and other assistance, the food was great, and the room was very nice and well-kept. The location is amazing... right by the bay with the water taxi to ...
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. After a problem with the first room, we were moved to a great room with a little patio looking over the bay to San Diego. It was very peaceful, the room comfortable. There was a makeup table/mirror, bathroom had seperate shower/tub, and was a good size. The service was very helpful, with directions and ...
