Overall, the service here was terrible. The staff was rude. When we mentioned it, they said, "Sorry you feel this way. We are a 4 diamond hotel and everyone else is happy with us."
They obviously have high esteem for their business, not their customers. If you travel here, be aware that you will likely be informed of the "greatness" of their hotel, while experiencing the rudeness of their staff.

One of the best vacation spots

FABULOUS! We were there several years ago on a business trip and are very anxious to plan our return trip coming up in 2008! The area is one of the most beautiful in the country -- La Jolla Cove where the seals gather on the beach is not to be missed!!!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. I usually am kind of neurotic about staying in hotels but this one was very clean and the bed was more comfortable than mine at home! I would recommend not getting a room close to an elevator due to noise and also not overlooking the pool area for the same reason.
The rooms are very nicely furnished, great bedding, lots of pillows. Balcony is nice for outdoor seating. The service was very good at front desk.
