We were looking forward to staying here because of the great location. What a disappointment. The small "upgraded" room was badly in need of refurbishment. Worst, the temperature could not be controlled, such that the options were to maintain it at around 90 degrees or open the window and let in all the street noise etc. I have stayed in probably 50 hotels in New York, and this was by far the worst.
We were two people and the room only has one chair so we took turns sitting LOL. There was no table of any kind so room service had to be consumed either in the bed or on the floor. Some people may consider that hip, but it did strain our sense of humour. If you like a hot bath you were out of luck. There was no tub.
We came 24,000 miles and thought we would stay in a hotel that symbolised New York - the hip and the now. This hotel misses the mark. If this is hip I suggest New Yorkers take a trip to Europe so they can see what really is hip. Where the hotel goes wrong is that it doesn't get the hotel part. 60 thompson is all about bald black guys, in black ...
Although we were there only one night, this hotel was a great place to stay. Situated in Soho, within easy walking distance of great restaurants and shops nearby. We were upgraded at no extra charge to a suite because our room wasn't ready at check-in. Personable and helpful staff. Would have loved to have stayed longer.
I asked for a quiet room as I noticed loud music in the lobby and the desk clerk said I was being "upgraded". I did not have time in my room as I met friends for dinner. I came back and the room was actually moving to the bass. It turns out I was over the DJ station. I called downstairs and was told there was no room elsewhere but I could ...
On the day of the largest snowfall in recorded history for NYC, I stayed the night and was pleasantly surprised. The room was tiny, but made up for it with decor, cleanliness, and ammenities. The bathroom was tremendous with beautiful floor to ceiling tile, glass fixtures, walk-in shower stall with 2 shower heads, plenty of plush towels, and ...
The hotel is in the heart of Soho and is in walking distance to the Village and Canal street.. The service okay and the employees were friendly. I found the hotel to be a little noisy. They also put the heat on in the rooms and cut off the air conditioning, when we complained about the temp. they told us that they shut off the aircondition and ...
The staff was warm, friendly and extremely efficient, the best hotel bar in the city, chic decor, terrific rooms with all the amenities including a fabulous bar area - fully stocked - and, as if this wasn't enough, when you lay down on the bed at Sixty, you feel like you are dropping into a cloud. This was the most incredible bed I have ever encountered - from the mattress to the bed linen - just a, "little bit of heaven."
We just returned from a week at 60 Thompson. This is quickly becoming one of our top NY hotels for a long stay. This is the second full week stay in six months and we weren't disapointed with our return. The location in Soho can't be beat in this "real" neighborhood which is slow paced and quite which is very nice after weekend ...
There is absolutely nothing to dislike! This little haven tucked in on a quite street in Soho, radiates an air of sophitocation, poise, class, elegance in a modern setting. The room as small but elegantly simple. Decorated in a very zen fashion, you walk in wanting to lie down and rest for a few. The Lobby is inviting and classy, ...
