When we arrived they told us that our room (prepaid through Costa Rica Anywhere) was not available because of a plumbing leak. They put us in one of the Chalets which are OK, but way up a very very steep hill. I noted the room charge difference (about $30/night for 3 nights) and they said they would just credit that ...
There are many cities I want to go, such as the city of Sails---Auckland, the city of Angels--- Los Angeles, traditional and modern Tokyo, Vibrant Sydney, romantic Paris, but the most mysterious Cairo is the first destination I want to visit. Cairo, which Egyptians proudly call the “mother of all Cities”, spreads along the banks of the River Nile ...

We made reservations ahead for a junior suite. When we arrived we were offered the 'master suite' as it had a 'private' deck facing the volcano. I ask to see it and then said we would take it. But after getting our suitcases in and looking around more we decided it wasn't worth the extra expense. I returned to the desk maybe ...

The lodge has an excellent view of the Arenal Volcano, but little else. Despite being atop a hill, it was unbearably hot during the afternoon. The hotel has no air conditioning. The included breakfast buffet was pretty good and it was interesting to hear the howler monkeys one morning. But with so many other modern hotels with a great view of the volcano, it is not worth sacrificing air conditioning.

Priceless volano views!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/04
After a long and bumpy ride around Arenal Lake, we arrived at Arenal Lodge which sits at the top of a hillside facing Arenal Volcano. The rough ride, however, was well worth the amazing postcard views of the volcano, which was at perfect eye level (no having to look up at it). Every room and the fantastic restuarant (although a bit pricey) looked ...
