We found this to be an EXCELLENT value for its location in downtown Charleston. The only way to enjoy a place like Charleston is to park your car walk, this is in an excellent location to do just that. The open air market is just two blocks away, and everything else the downtown has to offer is beyond that.
We stayed in the older building. ...

Disappointing breakfast!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/08
We liked the location of the inn, walking distance to shopping, Our room was nice, but very noisybeing on the street. The deluxe contintental breakfast was a disappointment. They only had muffins, bagels, and bad fruit.

What a nightmare.......
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/08
After selecting this hotel for a perfect get away, I began reading terrible reviews about the place. Thinking we would give it a shot anyway, especially since we would be out and about downtown and not really sitting in a hotel room, we arrived eager to begin our Andrew Pinckey Inn experience. Let me just say, our experience in Charleston was ...

Very disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/18/08
It was nothing like the website or info given on the phone. We checked in then had to drag our luggage across the street where we stayed. Our room had no window to the outside; had to walk up a flight of stairs to see what the weather was. Our building was never locked; anyone could come into the building no security in the lobby. The rooftop ...

Ruined the Charleston experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/08
Everything about Charleston was fabulous with the exception of this hotel. Although this hotel came highly recommended, our two-story townhouse suite was in appalling condition for $289 per night. The furniture, carpet and bedding were worn and appeared dirty; lamps did not work; pictures had been torn off the walls; the patio door was broken and ...

Blinded By the Light!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/07
The location of the Inn is very convenient to the center of downtown Charleston and most of the restaurants and the market. The "light continental breakfast" is not very enjoyable at all, the fruit was not ripe and the cakes were not very fresh. Our biggest concern was that our 2 room suite had a wall unit to heat and cool the upstairs, ...
We generally seek out smaller boutique hotels because of the level of service and intimacy they usually provide. The reviews on this property seemed to be mixed but the location and types of room offered convinced us to give it a try. What we experienced was unfortunately consistent with the less favorable reviews.
We arrived very late (4:30 ...

Perfect Getaway!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/06
This was an annual girlfriend 4 day getaway in May 06. Location is perfect - we parked the rental car and never used it. Breakfast on the terrace filled up quickly, but was tasty and service good - quickly refilling food that ran out. Check in/out rapid and efficient. Helpful tips on restaurants, etc. Room clean, size just right, quiet, nice decor. ...

We'll never go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/05
We had a cockroach infestation in our room. When we complained to the night auditor(who was asleep at her desk) she said they are palmetto bugs and to live with them. Her name is Diane and she is very rude and uncaring!
