Upon arriving at the Punta Cana airport, you will be charged $10 for a temporary VISA then 10 steps ahead of you; a man scans it and throws it away. Gee, money well spent! It is confusing at the airport so make sure you know which transfer counter you are set up with, for example we were Fun Jet and the Fun Jet counter was NOT easily identified ...
Just an FYI, please ignore all reviews prior to this one as the Grand isn't even slated to open until this month (December, 2008). These people are obviously reviewing the Iberostar Bavaro, not the Iberostar GRAND Bavaro. The Grand is attached to the Bavaro complex, but is a higher end resort much like the Grand Parasio (attached to the IB ...

Went for our honeymoon and we loved it!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/07/08
It has been four years since we went here but we absolutely loved it. The pool and beach areas are very nice, although a bit seaweedy. The staff was very friendly and in fact, was very accomodating when we got to our first room and requested to be moved to another one due to a musty smell. The bartenders were a blast and remembered us everytime ...

My husband, daughter (19 years old) and I just caback from a week at the Iberostar Bavaro from June 13 thru 20, 2007 and I cannot rate this trip high enough, We traveled thru Apple Vacations and never experienced one problem the whole trip. Going thru Apple got us in and out of the Dominican Republic pretty fast, not like other people who were ...
Good: pool, location of restaurants/buffets, shows, (awesome) staff, beach, French and Cajun restaurants, family resort; can visit two other Iberostar resorts next door [diff pool area, diff. shows, diff. restaurants, casino], haggling beach vendors, A/C in rooms, peacocks
Bad: Some of the food; beer, soft drinks; humidity (in July), bathrooms in some rooms (on going renovations), peacocks in the morning, shows :)

Favoriet Place in the World!

We stayed at the Iberostar Bavaro from June 12th to June 17th, 2005. For my family and me it was the second time at this resort, but my friend came with us this time.
Bavaro beach is everything you imagine from a Caribbean beach. White sands, blue oceans, and enough sun to fry you. The pool is great! They even had a bar in the pool where you ...
This was an unbelievable trip for my new wife and I. We were high school sweethearts that took us 11 years before we knew we were ready to get married. The only thing that got us through the hectic wedding week, was knowing that the following week, we would be sitting on the beach with cold drinks in our hands. It was exactley what we needed. The ...
