Found chewing tobacco can, needle cap in sealed container, water bottle, and other misc. items under the bed skirt. The location was good. The outside of the hotel was very nice. However, the room that we had (1523) SMELLED HORRIBLE!!! It smelled of ciggerate smoke and a really bad mildew smell came fron the air conditioning unit. The bed (wall unit) had a really dirty headboard, i don't know what that was. I hated to touch anything. I was really disappointed in the room since it looked so nice online. Hot tub and pool area was nice

The Monterrey Bay Hotel in Myrtle Beach SC is at best dissapointing , I am here now as I write this review. The biggest problem is it is sooo misleading as a resort hotel. The lazy river is something that your 2 year old child would laugh at. It's the smallest lazy river I have ever seen. The pools look like a motel's in the 1950's. ...

More than we expected. Huge rooms with new appliances: refrigerator, stove and microwave. 2 televisions with DVD players. 2 queen size beds and pull out. Plenty of room. 2 pools and 2 hot tubs. The free breakfast wasn't that good though and the front desk lacked in personality. Overall exceeded our expectations for price

The employees were very friendly.
It seemed to me that they were really trying to fix up the place and stay on top of things. Our room smelled like bug spray but that was nice because we saw only one bug, silverfish. Our friends saw some roaches and were moved to a different room. Our TV didn't work right, the phone and the the blowdryer ...

I LIKED THE IN HOUSE BREAKFAST THE SERVDED IN THE MORNING. THE IN-DOOR POOL AND HUT TUB IS CONNECTED WITHE THE OUTSIDE POOL, PLUS IT IS HEATED FOR COMFORT AT NIGHT. THE HOTEL IS CONNECTED TO THE MAIN STRIP WITH ACCESS TO ALL THE EATING RESTAURANTS. THE PAVILION IS NOT FAR DOWN THE STREET, BUT THERE ARE EAS ACCESS TO THE SHOPPING MALLS, ON THE MAIN ROAD.

My family and I stayed in July 06. The hotel was quite busy,which made the wait for the elevator very frustrating.We enjoyed the onsite emenities (lazy river, pool, etc), however the large hot tubs never did not get very hot. I believe the hotel could using some painting and fixing up, especially the bathrooms, but as the old saying goes.... you get what you pay for!!!! Next time I will spend a little more to get better!

This was the worst place we had ever stayed. In the past 5 years we have been all aound and stayed in many places, but this was the worst. We stayed @ Montery and were pleased with the staff. But not the room we found that there were bugs and not little bugs very large bugs. my girls we unhappy about. we enjoyed the location and the pools,but not the bugs. we also left 1 daty earily and should have been intitaled to a refund for that day. Overall we will vacationin 2008 in Myrtle Beach just not @ MonteryBay
