We were put off by the 2 bad reviews - BUT - we went anyway and we have nothing but good to say about the Lynburke Motel. CLEAN - COMFY - GOOD PRICE - FRIENDLY - SUPER LOCATION. Well worth the money. We will go again - in fact it will be our first pick. Restaurant opposite. Kingdom trail passes. Beds and quilts were classic Vermont. It was/is not expensive or ritzy - just great value. Our visit was fall 2009. Bill and Jeanne
non moking rooms #3,5,7,reeked of stale smoke. Room #10, which we finally took, was only a little better. Carpets were very badly stained; AC did not work well-- it had to run on highest level just to bring room temp down to low 70's. No handicap access queen beds .Much dirt in corner by tub. Could have dug it out w/ screwdriver
I am shocked to see the (-) reviews. For the price, you absolutely cannot beat it!! The owners, Jim & Mary, were very lovely and engaged us in a nice conversation. They also own a terrific restaurant up the road "Juniper's"!! IT was a fabulous meal and was very busy (a true indicator the locals know where to go!). Free Wi-FI!!!! ...
I ruined my shoe stepping in dog excrement. If a motel has to allow pets, the management should make sure that the owners obey ordinary politeness rules. Or clean up the stuff themselves.
Sure, there were some things other people might complain about like ugly carpet or ugly furnishings. I could see people complaining about the bathroom door having trouble shutting, or the mattresses possibly being from 1974. But it did seem renovated in some ways, and it was MUCH better than I expected based on reviews. For the price, I ...
We just spent a weekend Snowmobiling around the Northeast Kingdom and stayed at the Lynburke. Can't ask for more with this place: Nicely updated rooms, friendly service, right on the VAST trails, Free Wireless Internet and guests get a discount at a great local restaurant. We will definitely be using the Lynburke as our base for future Snowmobile vacations!
There have been a lot of changes at the LynBurke Hotel, and I'm delighted that the rooms were clean, the staff extremely nice, the pool and a/c were refreshing, and the rooms are comfortable! I liked the rustic pine furniture and I browsed the cute gift shop. All is well at LynBurke, and I will be back again!
My husband has informed me that there was indeed a telephone in the room, which I didn't see, and that the "squashed insects" on the ceiling (which I was too afraid to investigate) were in fact damaged ceiling tiles. I apologize for these inaccurate comments, which were made in good faith, and hope that those of you looking for a motel in this price range, will not be put off.
We booked a room here because we were attending a wedding at the Wildflower Inn in Lyndonville and couldn't afford Wildflower Inn rates.
If you are looking for those comforts you have come to expect from a medium priced motel ($75 per night), this is not the place to go. No coffee machine, hairdryer, Kleenex, ice bucket or telephone. Forget ...
They say never judge a book by its cover............well, they were right. The exterior looks great but go inside and its a whole different story. For the $75.00 plus tax for a room with a queen size bed is about all you got. It was 95 degrees and the AC didn't work well, gave us another room, either room has ice buckets, went to ask for ice ...
