We had stayed at the Marriot on Palm beach a few years ago, and thought staying in the city and enjoying the private island might be a new experience. The private island was terrific for families and was easy to get to using the water taxi. We also found the resort staff to be friendly and helpful. The hotel itself, however, was older and the ...

We stayed at the Renaissance during the Summer of 2008. It was one of the best vacations we have ever taken. The room was average, but amenities were outstanding. The pickk-up/drop-off boat taxi (takes you to the Renaissance private island) was really nice. The hotel had great restaurants, pools, activities and beaches. I have recommended this ...
This place charged for all but breathing. Don't pick up the phone. It will cost you a dollar. make a local call and it will cost you $12 to order pizza...for the call! Its $5 to rent a flotation device. Couple that with the price of things on this island and you are crazy to go from the U.S. Couple all this with poor service, a washer and dryer ...
My husband and I spent our Honeymoon in Aruba - it was beautiful weather and we enjoyed all the wonderful outdoor activities. The Renaissance was just average. We stayed at the beach front towers and had a pool side balcony. It's an older hotel and the hallways and rooms were musty smelling. We were comfortable in our room with plenty of ...
My review: Great hotel. I stayed on the Marina side. Please note before you go, this is an URBAN hotel. Right in the heart of downtown. I really liked that, but if you are looking for quiet and tranquil, this may not be the spot for you. Loved the pool, the food from the bar and the staff was very accomodating and very nice and friendly. We ...
Unfriendly is the word to describe some not all of the employees here. The unfriendly ones are the front desk, concierge & manager. The maids, bell hops, waiters were all nice, friendly & helpful. We lost power more than once and when my husband tried to take a shower before dinner one afternoon there was no water at all. Got a busy ...

mosquito on the private island
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/08
Everything about the place is great, EXCEPT, the private island was infested with mosquito's. Your only escape was to stay in the water. Service was good, people are friendly. Rooms were adequate, nothing to write home about.
WE enjoyed the Marina Hotel. The staff was very, very nice and helpful. The location is away from all the Tourist Hotels and off by itself but other than that I really enjoyed my stay.

I would not stay here again

The Ranaissance Marina hotel stated that is is on the water we paid to have an ocean view. What they failed to mention is the major street that runs between the hotel and the marina. After you look over the pool, street and parking lot you see the marina. Not the ocean view we were expecting or the balcony which fit my size 7 shoe it was so ...
