We spent a night at the Lodge in celebration of my birthday and our 46th anniversary. It was a disappointment. Wonderful falls and gorge. OK room. Food was very expensive for "restaurant" quality food. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We have a nicer experience at Ocean Shores and it costs a lot less. I would not recommend it and would not admit to spending that amount of money on this Lodge experience.

You'd think when you spend $700 on a hotel room for one night at a "resort/spa" that's touted to be one of the "Best of Western Washinton", most romantic, etc - you'd be in for a treat. Well, let me tell you - it was the worst hotel room I'd ever been in.
The couch and two chairs in the living room, besides ...

Restaurant overpriced with untrained staff
By Wendy, 12/16/08
The restaurant has gone down hill over the past few years, although it is still overpriced. Average food service and the waiter kept asking us if the food "exceeded our expectations" felt forced to nod although it was nothing over the top. The rooms are wonderful but I would venture elsewhere to eat if I stayed again.

I was there last weekend and it was my 40th birthday from hell when we received our bill that was $500.00 more then they quoted us. The spa treatments are not much to talk about they are very short and I found that their staff was unexperienced. The food is just avereage and you will pay though the you know what for it. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Any local spa would provide much better service..

A Big Disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/07
We had out of town guests who wanted to see the falls so we thought it would be a treat to take them to Salish Lodge for breakfast on Sunday. I wish we hadn't bothered. It was mediocre at best and stupidly expensive. The chairs in the dining are like medieval torture racks, offering no back support or comfort. The service is haphazard. A ...

We can no longer recommend it.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/21/07
We have been patronizing this nice place at regular intervals for almost 40 years, and after our most recent experience we would never go there again, nor can we recommend it to anyone. The place used to be famous for its large volume of food servings. Nobody left there hungry-. After bragging the place up to friends from out of town, we went ...

1.) Our room still had leftovers from the previous guests: including children toys next to the bed which I tripped over. 2.) Our tub would not drain 3.) The window to the tub was hard to open as they had the bed so close to the window 4.) Our $400.00 a night room did not have the pillow we ordered we were told to "settle" for another ...

Expensive, but does not live up to it.

The Lodge itself is quite striking, and it has a stunning location perched above Snoqualmie Falls. However, on a recent visit for Sunday breakfast, my experience with the dining room not good.
Our group of 8, including out of town guests, arrived 20 minutes earlier than our reservation. We were made to wait that full 20 minutes, which would ...
Great wine list, great ambiance, great location. The service was fantastic but the food was...good but not great. Outstanding salad, great soup, but I wasn't overly impressed with the venison chili. Still...a pleasant dining experience and I'd definitely return.
