The location is quiet and safe and the view of the Hudson is terrific. The staff allowed us to put our bags in slighty before check-in and also gave us a generous grace period after check out. They also gave us a recommendation for a great healthy breakfast at the New Wave Cafe 3 blocks away. The room (double for $119) was small and it was needing ...
There was nothing to like about this place. It was dirty, the cockroaches were large and lively, the pervasive smell of pesticides (which obviously didn't work from the size of the roaches in our room) was sickening. The "suite" was two small dorm rooms joined by a bathroom. Admittedly they mention that the rooms are small but they say nothing about communication through the bathroom. The only positive thing was the water pressure.
First, they gave away our confirmed reserved room with no explanation. We had to stay because it was late and I was in pain from a bad back. Despite my wrenched bad back, the only option was a broken-down trundle bed with fleas. I have the bites decorating my leg to prove this. I slept 3-6 inches above a capet that reeked. The whole building smells ...
The photos and description on the internet are a bit deceiving. Small rooms would not have been the problem, but the rooms were not clean(the window blinds needed a scraper to get them clean),the paint was chipped & dirty, and the odor in the hall & room was indescribable. The person at the desk was kind & courteous, and refunded our $$ ...
The only good thing to say about this hotel is the price. We found cockroaches, mold in the shower, dirty carpeting, no cable TV, no coffee available in the hotel, and we stayed in what is referred to as a "suite" --- puleeeeeze!!! The cockroach spray, which seems to be applied daily, has a lingering offensive odor. This hotel is not deserving of a star rating.
The staff was kind and friendly. The location was fine - a few blocks from the subway and from Central Park. The rooms were not what we expected. The building is older, hence the rooms are too. We were disappointed in the rooms not looking like the pictures we saw online. Descriptions were a bit misleading - a suite is two rooms with a joint bathroom. Three bed suite - one bed in each room with a trundle bed undereneath.
We ordered a "suite" for the four of us. Are they serious? 3 towels...NO amenities. The bathroom was in between the two rooms. Couldn't go through w/o checking who was in the bathroom. Sleep on the street if you have to. It's a dump!!!!!
i think tnis place is good for the people that want to visit the city not for the people that wants to stay a lot of time in the hotel. the rooms were very small but I didnīt care because I went with a group of school and we went to stay in the rooms a little time, we just need a place to sleep because all the day we were taking a walk and visiting ...
The problem is that the building is too skinny. And they tried to jam too much into each floor. So you get really really small and crowded rooms. It sounds funny, but even the elevators are skinny.
The Upper West Side location is nice, safe and pleasant. If you are patient, you can park on the street for free. Prices are economical. Room ...
When I first booked a room at the riverside and came here to look at reviews, I was a little worried. I looked around for other hotels but every thing was at least double in price so I decided to try it out. It was not bad at all, there were no bugs, sure the rooms were small and kinda designed weird and outdated but the building is in New York and ...
