This hotel is near the best traveller area in SD. Gas Lamp quarter is where the best shopping and restaurants are. It is a 5 minute cab ride from the airport (about $12). It is within walking distance (10 city blocks) of the trolley, convention center and baseball stadium. The trolley will take you to the football stadium on game day. The ...
This beautiful hotel was wonderful! The suite was large and clean with a great view! (We had the corner 809). And the price was very good! The staff was very helpful with everything from helping with our bags to great places to eat. The location was perfect! Very fun places to explore and very close to several attractions! We went to the Zoo and to ...

Everyone was very nice and polite. It has a great location. I will be making that my hotel of choice when in San Diego. I stayed with my young sons and they loved it as well. I work for an airline and travel alot, so I see several hotels and this is a great one.

VERY DISPLEASED

This place is OVER RATED! When I walked in, I thought I traveled back to the 1940's. The lobby is very dimly lit. The only friendly person at the fron desk is Merry. The first thing that hit me off the elevator was a musty dank odor. Now I know why there were freshner sprays in the elevator, they needed them all the place. My room was no ...

We loved the location, the restaurants, the entertainment, and the free continental breakfast from the rooftop. We had cereal, bananas, toast, tea, coffee, orange juice and sweet rolls. The front desk was opened 24 hours, with brochures, maps, theater information, and suggested walking tours. For $30, you could catch the trolley tour that would ...

I was completely appaulled!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/07
I'll apologize in advance for the gross content. My aunt and I were visiting San Diego for the weekend and chose this hotel because of the great location, but that's all this place has to offer. The front desk clerk, Sean, was sarcastic and impatient when we were checking in. This is only the tip of the iceberg.
Great location; right in the middle of the Gaslamp area of downtown San Diego! Nice hotel. The rooms were renovated a while back and they are wonderful.
I knew from their website that it was a nice hotel and I was right! We were not disappointed at all (except for the rain the first two days!) The lemon muffins on the rooftop were splendid! If you want a more conventional breakfast their are many restaurants to choose from nearby. The service was enthusiastic and pleasant and the room was ...
I stayed at this hotel last weekend for my birthday and highly recommend! The staff was full of energy-- if Merry is the person checking you in, you are in for a real treat.... She is HI-larious! The hotel was very clean and has a charming, old time feel. Above all else, you can not BEAT the location!! Right in the heart of the Gaslamp- and walking distance to all the action!
