We just returned, had a wonderful time, the area is gorgeous, and relaxing, it appeared to us that Christmas and New Years is suposed to be the busiest time of year, but tourism is down so it was not crowded. Even though the peso is 12 to $1, things were just as expensive in Mexico as they are in America.
I have stayed at here 9 times over the last 10 years. It was out standing. Recently returned since Barcelo took over what a disappointment. No more Houstons. The Sports Bar is now what they call 2 Restaurants but its really the same place they just give out different menus on different seatings.Trying to get service at the pool is a joke even ...
My daughter and I experienced the best vacation at this resort, especially of the 18 years of travel I have done. The Hotel is perfect, the room was outstanding, the shower was so large ( to bad I wasn't married..lol)..was a expierance even thou it is a small factor. The view from the balcony (make sure you get a ocean view room) was ...
This place is a great getaway. Wounderful place with great food good drinks and very pleasant staff. Met alot of people who were regulars here and although they said the food was better in the past they still love to come back. I know I will be going back, man I cant wait!
My husband & I got engaged at this hotel and can't wait to get back. We were only there for 4 days and it was too short. The staff was exceptional, the spa is wonderful (reasonably priced) and we love the fresh authentic Mexican food. We've been all over Mexico and by far love Puerta Vallarta...things are reasonably priced, not the ...
Something for everyone. The food is as good as I have ever had and I have traveled all over the world. I laid in a hammock one morning under palm trees with flowers all around me reading a book. Room was beautiful with a balcony that I could look out at night. The entire experience was incredible. Want to go back today and take everybody that I know.
The Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya in Puerto Vallarta is a big change from the geography of Cancun. Here the hotel is nestled at the foot of several mountains that extend rignt down to the Pacific Ocean. The hotel rooms are large and very well appointed with a spacious balcony overlooking the pools and ocean. The staff seemed indifferent but the ...

Amazing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/08
This place was beautiful. Almost everything about it was amazing. There were some low points and high points to the trip. While eating, since everything was outside, there were many many many bees flying around, but the waiters did what they could to keep them away. There is a great assortment of pools to swim in, so you never feel really crowded ...
This place was beautiful! The service and people were great, the pools and swim up bar was awesome as well. The food wasnt that great only 1 restraunt they had was good and that was where they served the burgers and fries buffet everyday, there was a constant bad smell the whole time we were there which was very annoying. Great but Repetitive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/08
We stayed for six nights, which was just barely too long. The hotel is great for getting away to a secluded spot and just resting. It is big enough that the place feels like a small village, and small enough to feel cozy.
The meals were very repetitive, however, and offered very little variety. There are three specialty restraunts which ...
