We just got back from teh Sherwood Inn. The place was clean but that's all I can say. The owners spoke little to no English, and in "mid-town" AMERICA was a bit anoying. The porch on the front was nice to relax, The food was poor at best. Will I go back probably not.
I first visited the Inn in 2003 on New years eve and it was wonderful, great food and atmosphere. Had the best Lobster cocktail. In 2004 my boyfriend and I came back again, once again it was great. We were married on Oct 13, 2006 and spent our honeymoon there and the menu and service went from a 10+ to about a 3. We once again called in 2007 to ...
I've stayed in the Sherwood a couple of times, in-laws live in Greene and everytime I stayed there, I was hoping it would be better. Beds are very uncomfortable. Double bed rooms in the annex are very small. One bed is so close to the bathroom, you could open & close the door without getting out of bed. I didn't feel the rooms were ...
The food in this establishment is decidedly mediocre-at best, and the service is among the worst I've experienced anywhere: 20 minutes between entering and receiving a menu is commonplace. Add another 20 to 30 minutes to get your food.
The beds were very uncomfortable. Walls so thin you could hear a pin drop in the next room. I have stayed in many hotels in America and Europe though this is not the worst it definitly is not worth the price I paid.
Thisplace is a dump. 100+ years old and it could be the worst place I've ever stayed. Resteraunt does have good food but other than that its a nightmare. Cold showers, no garbage picked up from rooms when making the bed. I could hear the guy next door snore like he was two feet away and no walls between us. Keep the restraunt and condem the rest of the place!!!!
I couldn't get over the wonderful food. As I tasted the sauces, I was discovering delicate hints of herbs or wine, or what-ever. It was such a refreshing experience. Most of the "good" restaurants in the area disappointed me. I'm very picky and like fine cuisine. This food was like a great vacation for my taste buds. The service was very good too. The prices were good, we were full, had doggie bags, and went home with a smile.
