After reading the many reviews of this hotel on this and another travel site, wasn't sure what to make of it. While this hotel was not one of the best I've stayed at, it certainly was better than I expected from some of the reviews.

My husband & I booked this room the night before our trip. We booked a kingbed room, but found ourselves upgraded to a kingbed suite which was nice (I'd recommend booking that since it's only $10 more and a ton more room). I also requested it far from the elevator which it was, so it was very quiet.

The staff was very courteous and the rooms were quite nice. The beds are very comfortable and I thought the hotel was very quiet. Cookies with check-in are a very nice touch! I would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Easy access to / from the Santa Monica Freeway. Beautifully designed suite hotel with 10-story atrium, glass-walled elevators, eccentrically shaped rooms. Our 8th-floor room faced the ocean and the pier; both are within easy walking distance, as is Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade.
A bit pricy but worth it.

The service @ the doubletree was fantastic each and every day we were there. The hotel was located perfectly and made for a wonderful vacation in southern cali. Highly reccomended!
