I think Avalon is totally over-rated. Above everything else, location is the only thing going for this place. The staff was totally unfriendly and unwilling to help my friend and I with our bags. I stayed at the Majestic Hotel part of Avalon. It was very nice. Rooms are little bit small. Noticed that some rooms came with refridgerators. Our room didn't. Very clean and comfortable. The porch is very nice also. You definitly can see all the action. Everything is in walking distance. 7th & Ocean, great spot. The beach is right across the street. Security was perfect too. Loved every minute of it. See you next year!

I have stayed at about 4 hotels in South Beach & for a while it seemed as if, each time the hotel was worse than the one before. This time I was pleasantly surprised with the Avalon Majestic. The rooms were very clean, the location was great & the complimentary breakfast was more than continental! Overall, the Avalon Majestic was average for South Beach, but for the price ($150.00 per night), it was more than satisfactory.

Our visit to the Avalon in South Beach was a blast. The staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel is located in the heart of all the fun in South Beach and the room was very decent for the price. The beach is so close you can smell it.

I stayed at this hotel in Mid January 2005. First off, there are 2 hotels, the Avalon, and the Majestic. Avalon side is nicer. Both are clean. The rooms are small and there are no frills.
