Room was 3 stories up w/o an elevator. Room was very small and bathroom large. Bed was supposed to be a queen size but was a double. There was a noise all night long that sounded like a service elevator. Views were obstructive. WiFi only available in Library, not rooms. It was clean and the building had a rich history. I saw many duplicate hung ...

Not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/08
My husband and I stayed here, we were both incredibly disappointed with the experience. We asked for a certain type of room and told that it would be held for us, and it was not. We spent 30 minutes waiting in the lobby to be moved to another room, and were given dirty looks and curt attitudes by the staff on duty. My husband is from Seattle and is ...

Staying at Manresa Castle
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/08
Here is the skinny..... If you are traveling any sort of distance to stay a night or two in Port Townsend, WA you should not stay at this castle. One, it is a distance from town and most rooms have a view of a grocery store or hospital. Two, the rooms are overpriced and kinda trashy. We paid for a special that included wine and dinner and one ...

Manresa Castle
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/08
I see people writing fake reviews about the Historic Manresa Castle in Port Townsend and That building is original and Respected place,, The history will stay the same as always.
We had a little trouble finding the hotel when we arrived. There were no signs from the main road and it was very dark. We did find a good coffee shop, Grounds for Perfection, just along the highway on the right. They told us how to get back to the hotel.
When we did get to the hotel, we were given the keys to our room. The room was cute, small, ...

Wedding Bells

I am to wed there next month and it seems the attitudes at the front desk are volatile. Sometimes I get a lovely person at the other end of the line who clearly will go out of her way to help with any information I need... then there are those who, when I ask if the front desk is inquiring whether or not potential guests are for the "Smith ...
My husband and I have been waiting to get away for an nice weekend for years. Family members had recommended Port Townsend. So I went online and looked up hotels. I looked at price and location, and then I saw the Manresa Castle. Not only did it look great, but it was a Castle!! When we arrived to the castle, it was beautiful. We walked up to ...

OUR PERFECT HOLIDAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/07
Phil and I love this place. Preston is the most gracious host and the hotel is very relaxing also intriguing to the ghost hunter. The restaurant has excellent cuisine; the lounge perfect for intimate conversation and the entire castle is a photographer’s canvas.
I recommend this home away from home highly. Phil and I will be going back again this Christmas.

We had a great time. The food was excellent and the service was also. Our group of sixteen had dinner together and we made some new friends with the staff.
Beautiful scenery and a new experiennce staying here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We rode here on our Harley Davidson motorcycles from Missouri. The castle was very interesting and the story of who built it.
