Stayed for 3 nights. Very quiet & clean. John the mgr. is an interesting conversationalist. Coffee in the lobby. Small fridge in room. Got stuck in the snow but employee helped dig out. No WiFi but they are working on it. It's a small family run operation and they do a good job.
After checking in, we went up the stairs to our "suite." We immediately laughed at the heart-shaped bed and the lights on the heart-shaped mirror above the bed. The room did not meet our expectations, but we decided to tour the rest of the hotel and try to make the best of our stay. The hallways were dark, smelly and gave me an uneasy ...
We just stayed at the Chateau Royale Inn, and were very impressed! The staff was friendly, the inn was clean and well-decorated(A tad outdated, but isn't a part of Lake Geneva's quaint charm in general?), and it's a great value! We made reservations for a whirlpool suite for two, and got the Honeymoon Suite with the heart-shaped bed! It ...
The hotel is a great value and good friendly service. The rooms were clean and big the staff makes you feel at home good people to stay with. Very close to town !
In a town where hotels are $80 and up this time of year, this place is a great deal. It's quiet and conveniently located to town. The only smell I noticed was the owner's dinner cooking. I think they live there. The pool could have been a little cleaner but overall things were very clean. My family and I felt comfortable and safe and the price was about 65% cheaper than others in the area. I will definitly go back!
I booked a room at this place, cancelled 4 days before my stay. One month later a charge appeared on my credit card from the Chateau Royale, when I called to dispute this with the manager he was rude and belligerent.
At first we thought it was ok for the price. Until I got my bankcard statment and was charged double. When contacted, John was all like "send a fax and I'll look into it". 45 days later this is still not resolved. Be forewarned!
The Chateau Royale is a great place to stay on a budget. Think of it as a mom-and-pop Hotel 6. My only complaint is that the hallways DID smell a little, but you can walk to the lake, which is a plus. Also, it is half the price of all other hotels, and we talked the price down even more.
The Chateau Royale in Lake Geneva is not a very extravagent place. But that may be its strong point. Its central location near downtown and it low cost are its 2 biggest pluses. But you do get what you pay for.
The front desk help was prompt and friendly when I checked in. The room was located on the 2nd floor. The stairwell to get to the ...
