Both experiences were relatively the same..room service walked in on an almost awkward moment both times...I would say that was the only annoyance.. The second time i walked into a non smoking room that smelled like smoke and later found out that there was an ash tray with deposited cigarettes under the bed but both problems were minor and I ...
We got a fantastic price at this hotel. (F.Y.I. look at gas stations on the way up and they have free booklets for traveling with great deals in them) It is centrally located to just about everything. The room was clean. I had no complaints. It was not a holiday Inn but if you will just be there to sleep and change clothes this is perfect. If you want to hang out at the hotel, I am not sure this is where I would pick. Also No pool!!!
We needed a room during a long trip and this near some other pricier places. It is bare bones, not too clean, lumpy beds, no amenities like coffee, iron, hair dryer, loud AC, very loud. The free wireless was not. It was some deal with tmobile where you have to sign up for a plan essentially $1 a minute.
Other than the location, this hotel was one of the worst places I have ever stayed in. No coffee, iron, breakfast. When we returned to our hotel, the police were taking pictures of a room 3 doors down. Never a good sign. The people next door were load and obnoxious and wouldn't shut up until the wee hours of the morning, when finally the front desk guy decided to wake up and do his job. As some of the other reviews said--run, run, run!!!
Well, yahoo keeps deleting my entries, but that's ok...here it is again...My boyfriend and I drove 5 hours from Southern IL to attend a concert that was playing at The Pageant that night. We chose this hotel because it was located not far from the venue, and seemed to be a nice place to stay.
The receptionist at the front counter was ...

Staff seem as if they wish they were at home. The chain has no coffee in the room, no hair dryers-- it is bare bones. If you do stay here and need to eat breakfast, etc., go next door to the Holiday Inn. Their coffee shop is very nice, reasonable prices (not hotel prices), and you can get in-and-out in good time.
I had just travelled 5 hours by bus to rescue my daughter when the car broke down. I was tired, sore and all I wanted was a place to SLEEP. The Red Roof was in the area I needed to be, was "reasonable" and boasted "all new rooms." Well, as I wrote on my comment list before I left - SHAME ON YOU. If what they use as ...

RUN AWAY!!! Do not stay here. This is not a place to stay for the price looks nice inside but not outside.People stay up all night playing music and being loud.
I can't believe that I paid $97.99 + tax to stay in this dump!! Our room was dirty. There was a wet spot in the carpet where they had tried to shampoo something up. It was still soaking wet and bubbly. Our air conditioner was not working and it was 100 degrees outside. Maintenance did come and got it working. We then froze all night long! It is definitely too much to pay for such poor quality accomodations.
