We stayed at the Clarion in Mackinaw City just a few days ago. We were tired after several hours of traveling from the Copper Country in the U.P., and we were anxious to check into the Clarion. The lobby was well-appointed and we thought that the rest of the hotel should match this decor.

The Hotel was OK, but it was too far to walk to downtown area,or to go see the bridge, fort or lighthouse. We had to drive everywhere. Prices
were the highest of any of the holtels that we checked out. Rooms were clean, the pool somewhat small but OK. I think I was paying for the name more than anything.

Check in time was 3:00 p.m. and we arrived at 3:15, only to be told our room would not be ready for another hour, and could we find something else to do? My husband and I checked into another hotel that I will not name and it was absolutely horrible. We demanded a refund and found the Clarion. It was clean, comfortable and in the right location. We identified availability and checked in right away. Our time on the beach was so relaxing. We had a first level room with a hot tub. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet; it was wonderful. I am ready to come back and bring the children this time.

the free breakfast was a little weak-all the food tasted the same-but other than that it was a great place to stay-nice rooms and clean

we had a great 2 room suite, with seperate enterances, so kids could stay up later and not wake me when they came in. very modern facilities. great breakfast. the only problem was we were on the second floor (same bldg as breakfast) and it was noisey with people going go get breakfast. would stay again, but would ask for lake side room.

We had a family suite on the 2nd floor overlooking the beach. The room was spacious enough for a family of 5, and it was nice to relax on the balcony. The kids could play on the beach all day.
