Best spot in townCaters to "ex-pats" and locals alike. I have spent many days lounging by the pool at "the Bird" and enjoying their delicious food. It's the place to go if you want to get away from the sights and sounds of Goroka. The staff are helpful and friendly and are glad to offer insider's advice on where to shop and visit. ...SHOW FULL REVIEW

Wonderful PeopleThis is one of the best places I have stayed, especially for the price. I've spent 3-4 times the money staying in dumps in USA.

Escape the real world of PNG'The Bird' is a world away from the streets of Goroka, PNG. One step through the doors, opened by a uniformed doorman, and you are transported to another dimension, a world of pampering and pleasure. It is a paradise!!!
One warning -- the ice cream at the pool, while it has improved, it is still not that great. It is worth the price, you get what you pay for.
