We stayed at this hotel every time we visited Ensenada over the last 7 years (twice every year). The hotel was a Days Inn. Since the change over the place has gone down fast. Bottom line, this is a poorly managed low end motel 6 in the center of the tourist area. Expect no service from the management and signs of cost savings are every where. Pool ...
My son and I just got back from a short trip to Ensenada and our stay at Villa Fontana. This p;ace was very nice, freindly staff and quiet clean room. We were on pool side and had great view of the Harbor. Central to anything and within walking distance of a Starbucks, what more could you ask for. Not only would I recommend staying here, but my next visit I will stay there!
If your looking for a more quite relaxing hotel to stay in well this is not it. It is located in a very busy highway and you can hear everything from the next door guest to everything else outside. Terrible experience. The floor and walls were filthy 5 minutes after showering my children, their feet were black from walking on the dirty carpet. The pool was cold and the hot tub was slightly warmer.

I stayed at the Villafontana 7 months ago.
Pros: GREAT staff Secure parking Nice pool Location - on the main street and within walking distance to everything.
Cons: Rooms are dirty - sticky carpet, moldy bathroom and questionable linens. My group had 3 rooms and they were all bad. I ask to see other rooms and they were also bad.
While on the Avenida Lopez Mateos, it's at the end opposite the hub of cantinas and hangouts. The rooms, in winter, are cold with marginal heating. In addition, similar lodgings can be had in "hole-in-the-wall" places closer to the action for much, much less. The on-site parking is safe, if for no reason than the cars are squeezed ...
