Surpirsed by the disappointing reviewFrankly I'm abit surprised by the disappointing review. The spa villa was a palace of seclusion and tranquility. The food from the moment we walked in to when we checked out whether buffet style or specially cooked was incredible. We didn't want to leave. It was heaven.3 of 4 Yahoo! Perfect. Absolutely perfect.We had our honeymoon here in October, 2006, and the Banyan Tree completely blew away our expectations; it was the best honeymoon we could have ever asked for.
The staff was amazing, the accommodations were wonderful (a free upgrade to the deluxe pool villa didn't hurt!), and the food was good, too (although pricey for Thai standards, cheap ...3 of 3 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulSHOW FULL REVIEW

The only hotel I want to stay in PhuketThis is the flagship Banyan Tree and I have stayed here a number of times. My stays have always been enjoyable, even if I were staying in the smallest garden villa.

Small problem is the beds are ste in the fllor up2 steps, so if you are crawling around for the loo, you could easily fall down the steps.
The laundry needs improving

Banyan Tree - DisappointingI had high hopes for this resort, after my experience at their Bangkok hotel. The facilities were great, but I found other aspects of my stay disappointing. The food I had at their restaurants was average, and I certainly expected a higher standard with Banyan Tree's reputation, and of course prices.
