Rooms are contemporary and very clean. Resort staff very helpful and friendly. In- -house restaurants (3)were excellent!Within steps to 3 swimming beach lagoons. Small issue with having to call for ice.To get away from Waikiki's hustle and bustle and still have a first class resort, my wife and I highly recommend this resort. And its only 30 minutes from the airport.

Always a Great Place to Visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/06
We try to stay at the Ihilani Resort & Spa two to three times a year, even though we live only 20 minutes away. It's a beautiful resort and a wonderful place to relax. We had a mountain view room and breakfast buffet package. Upon check in, we were upgraded to a deluxe ocean view room, which had a view of the ocean and the first lagoon. ...

Ihilani is way past its prime
By membrila@pacbell.net, 07/21/06
The Ihilani has deteriorated significantly since our last trip five years ago. The pool and spa are both jammed with screaming kids playing football, floating on mattresses, and generally making the pool area chaotic. Be careful in the spa, I cannot say how bad the floating debris and green slime on the pool tile are for your health, however they ...
While the drive from Oahu International is over thirty minutes, the seclusion the JW offers is worth every mile. Upon arriving at this resort, set inside a master-planned upscale community, one notices a certain refinement Marriott leaves to their upscale brand, Ritz Carlton. With recent acquisitions (this was one of them) the JW brand has ...

Never disappoints
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/06
My wife and I travel to Hawaii often and while Oahu is not our favorite island, the JW Marriott on Oahu is a without question one of the best properties in all of Hawaii. My recommendation however is not to stay there for the full trip as in my opinion you miss out on what I feel to be the experience of Hawaii which is the Ocean. Yes the property ...

Could have been better....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/25/06
If you like soft beds, this is the place. Otherwise, be forewarned.
We stayed on the 14th floor in a fantastic room. The room was over the pool and had a view of the lagoons. Beautiful.
The wood shutters were quality and the room was comfortable.
However there were two things that could have been ALOT better. The first was the TV. A ...

WONDERFUL TIME!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/06
This hotel was wonderful - better than i expected and well worth the $$$...the view was wonderful and it was far away from the hustle and noise of the "spring-break " like city ...loved it - dream of going back
We have stayed at MANY Marriott (and J.W.) properties: Desert Springs J.W., Ca., Druids Glen Marriott Ireland, Laguna Cliffs, Ca., Maui Beach Club marriott... ETC. Etc. This property is the nicest of the ones listed above. It is not huge and the pool is underwhelming (round) for a modern resort. But the service is wonderful! the Staff, from the ...

Absolutely Perfect
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/06
This resort is so picturesque and so glad that my husband and I chose it for our honeymoon. It was strange to look at the negative reviews of the hotel, especially for couples on their honeymoon, because we had the best vacation ever at the Ihilani. The minute we got there, the front desk service was very courteous, assisted us to our room, and ...

Not ready for prime time.
By johnha@rogers.com, 03/10/06
We weren't quite as happy with this resort as others seem to be.
The room (15th floor Deluxe Ocean View) was smaller than expected and included a view that was part ocean, part industrial (refinery). The neighbouring room's balcony had a clear view of our bed and dressing areas, which required careful arrangement of the plantation style ...
