The Holiday Inn Express is within walking distance to Stewart Beach. Also, the front desk was very helpful with questions about local favorites including resturants, shops, night clubs etc. Also, the price is great for what you get. The rooms were clean, the continental breakfast was more than enough and the hotel even offers a pool. I can't think of a better place to stay. I reccommend this hotel to everyone who visits Galveston.
