We went to Hajj in 2006 and stayed at this sheraton. Excellent location and good service. The hotel masjid faces the Haram. I would highly recommend view the Haram at late night.
I am a starwood preferred (spg)customer and I though it was a great hotel. Service was better than Chicago Rosemont Sheraton.
I stayed in Sheraton for two nights in early July 2007 and my stay was a nightmare. I didn't like the location at all. You have to walk through a congested 'Bazaar' to reach Haram and there are aren't any nice eating places near the Hotel. You will have to walk for ten to fifteen minutes before you find a good place and believe me, ...
Excellent hotel so close to Masjid-e-Haram that one can walk over whenever one feels like. No issue as far as amenities are concerned, substantial number of eating options, including much needed tea shops and ice cream vendor for those hot summer days. Wonderful decor and exquisite furnishings. Will always go there.
I was there in Sept.2006 to be fair it was ok, but i found the dinning staff rather unfriendly, I asked them once if it was ok for me to take up b/fast for my elderly mother, the head waiter found that amuzing!I am going back to the Haram after the Ramadan insha Allah with my family and I will not be going back to this hotel.....

Great rooms, affordable rates, very friendly staff, great experience overall and only a few steps away from Haram.
Great place to be in the holy city Makkah.
I have been to many other hotels including Hilton Makkah [known to be the best] and so on.. this one is right up there. And to add further more I got a complementry upgrade to suite.
