A perfect place to relax after a long day. The 24 hour chocolate bar is just the perfect nightcap.
As a fellow old house enthusiast, I was so happy to find that Jim and Sandy had lovingly restored this amazing house instead of modernizing and renovating it. The modern baths and mattresses are appropriate, but all other features are accurately recreated or preserved--at great expense. Nice amenities as well--we particularly enjoyed the chocolate buffet, gourmet teas, and snifter of brandy every evening. Thanks again for a wonderful getaway!
There is a reason the Beall Mansion is the best B&B in IL....because it is. Jim and Sandy are Wonderful! It is gorgeous there. It is warm, wonderful and elegant. Talk about being taken care of...wow! Nothing more relaxing than a big warm bath with some of sandy's homemade bath salts, while drinking a hot cup of tea and eat chocolates. I ...

Had a great time; learned some history
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/09
This B&B is a wonderful place to get away from worries & the hectic life. Jim & Sandy are gracious hosts. There is so much history about this home & very interesting. (How did she get rid of 5 husbands). The antiques were amazing; the bed was so comfortable; the gourmet brkf. was outstanding. We will be giving some of our family gifts to the Beall Mansion as gifts.
We were married at Beall Mansion on oct. 3, 2009! My husband and I had the time of our life there. everything was beautiful and the service seemed flawless! All of our guests were shocked at how gorgeous and intimate the wedding was. We got comments about it all day long. Our overnight stays there felt right at home. It was so relaxing. The owners ...
We spent a Friday and Saturday night at the Manson. Jim was a very gracious host and shared some stories related to the history of the home and he and his wife’s effort to restore it. (Sandy was out of town.) We had breakfast in our room Saturday and in the dinning room Sunday morning. The food and presentation was excellent! Jim also made ...

Utterly marvelous. Stay here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/09
The Beall Mansion is a beautifully restored historic home, designed by a famous architect. The entire B&B is furnished in appropriate antiques, turning every room into a museum. Jim and Sandy have lavished loving care on the place, and do the same for their guests. They are not the least bit snobbish; do not fear to stay here because you are ...
We enjoyed our stay very much!! We stayed in the king-size room with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. I have never felt so relaxed. The house was absolutely beautiful and all the extra touches were wonderful from the fresh coffee and the chocalte bar to the comfy feather mattress. We had dinner in Alton and it was such a wonderful little town with very friendly people. I recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone!!
