I spent a week here in Feb 04 with my husband. We got married on the cliffs overlooking the sea, then rode on an elephant across the beach. The staff in the hotel were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would really recomend this hotel, its in my top 5 places in the world! Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and i can't wait too return.

The Lighthouse is a wonderful hotel set in an idyllic location. We spent five days there and enjoyed every one of them. The food was marvellous and the rooms luxurious with beautiful views over the ocean. The staff were gracious and welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay.

Set high on a rocky promontory with remarkable views. The Lighthouse is certainly worth a visit. The entrance is impressive with a wonderful staircase. The hotel was designed by Geoffrey Bawa and the rooms are elegant and very comfortable in shades of cream, brown and turquoise. The food is good and service as usual in Sri Lanka is excellent.
