  • Good hotel - shame about the resturant staff
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/09
This is a lovely informal hotel, with large comfortable rooms and good facilities. The resturant however lets it down. The food is poor, mass tourism standard and quality and the staff are unhelpful and continually trying to clear away plates before you have fininshed your meal.

  • Village hotel
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/08
In this hotel we liked the rooms: spacious, all different, clean. Also fine viewa. The access by wheelchair leavse to be improved: the restaurant is difficult to enter and the buffets cannot be reached by wheelchair.

The lay-out of the hotel is also nice, but it is rather artificially: too quiet for a village. Even the 'main square' and ...

  • Fantastic!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/07
I loved how it was laid out more like a village and less like a hotel. I really enjoyed being greeted with cardamon tea. Also, the Turkish bath was a wonderful experience. The truly exceptional thing, though, was how the rooms felt carved out of a hillside once you were inside. Each one was unique and beautiful.

  • Unique historic
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/07
It was comfortable and different. Five star luxury in unusual buildings. Each suite was individual since they were adapted from the houses of the old village. We loved the feel of being in a little township.

  • Unique Experience
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/06
My husband and I recently stayed here along with 50 other members of a tour we were with. We loved it! It was like being sent back in time, except you have all the modern conveniences.

The rooms are all different, but clean and cozy. The walls of the buildings are about 3 feet thick, so it was very quiet! The whole place is like a village with a suke for shopping and a wonderful restaurant.

  • Unique and beautiful retreat
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/06
The rooms are unique, but very spacious with great amenities. There was a very nice selection of toiletries in the bathroom. It was nice to have a separate sitting area with the TV and minibar. Yes, it is kind of a maze to find your way around, but each room has a map with your room marked on it. The restaurant was very good and the the service from the whole staff was excellent. we only had one night there, but I'd love to go back.

  • Splendid !
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/27/06
I had marvellous days at the Taybet, when I was beggining to write my book on the spices trail! The hotel is really a place to rest and to admire Petra in another angle. Really it is a very good experience, but don't stay only a day you mus be there a whole week to have really a good knowledge of the environment. Don't forget to take a Qish in your arrival!

  • I would like to visit it again!!!
    By vicky, 03/31/06
The hotel as well as the rooms have a tranditional character and are a good choice to stay if you want to visit Petra site in Jordan.
The rooms are wonderful and the location of this hotel is excellent.
The variety of breakfast and dinner buffets was excellent and the quality of foods were also very good.
I would definetely choose this hotel in another visit to Petra.

  • A complete experience
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/05
I was hesitant to stay in a non"chain" resort, however, I was absolutely at awe with this resort. The rooms are all completely unique from anything traditional, and the service and facilities are outstanding. I only hope that I can return someday with my family to share in this amazing experience.
