The area and the idea are perfect for families, the delivery is absolutely horrid. Santa's Lodge does a very poor job of living up to it's name. Each "event" (that you pay extra for) has a totally different Santa Claus, one of which was quite rude, not something you want to take your children to.
This place stinks. Maybe the folks from Hoilday World should take over. We left without staying. They showed us three rooms, all that were dirty and gross. The first one even had flies buzzing everywhere.
what an out of date dump...the restaurant is in the dingy basement...the food is terrible...our room was on the second floor....the floor was squeaky..tv was dirty...floor wasnt vacummed in years...the a/c sounded like an airplane...we only got 7 channels on the filthy tv...black marks all over walls in room...beds were hard as rocks...the bathroom ...
The hotel is charming and quaint. The staff was courteous, the manager was was very pleasant and the housekeepers were even friendly. Very Close to Holiday World, which is a great plus!!! The lobby is beautiful. The pizza shop, Frosty's was nice but the putt putt golf area needs maintenance. We wish the gift shop would have more to offer. ...
After reading these reviews I was leary of our decision to stay at Santa's Lodge. Needless to say - we had a great experience. We checked right in with no problems, had clean rooms and excellent customer service. Our rooms were on the second floor of the new section.
Having traveled extensively, I did think the room prices were a little high for what you got, however for convenience it was worth it.
I read all the bad reviews about this hotel and was a little nervous about going there, but loved the proximity to Holiday world. So I am happy to report that all the bad reviews for this hotel in my opinion are unfounded. It was clean and decorated just beautifully. The lobby was a real shock most hotel lobbies are all the same but this one was ...
We arrived early to purchase Holiday World tickets, obviously interrupting the lady's day. No smiles in Santa Claus! Holiday World was wonderful!! Very clean, lots of options for whole family! Then back to Santa's Lodge...room seemed nice, air conditioner worked fine. Tried to sleep, walls very thin! Kids in room beside us very loud!! ...
We were very disappointed by our two night stay at the "lodge". It was poorly managed, run down and overpriced. We had booked our rooms because of a brochure that had been given to us. I would like to see the rooms that were pictured in the brochure! Next time we will do our research.
Stayed the last weekend in August 2007. I had booked two rooms by phone after researching them online, one a standard queen room for my husband, son, and me and the other a queen suite for our other family members (Santa's Lodge has since changed the descriptions of their rooms on their website). When we got there at 9:00 p.m., they had our ...
My family and I stayed over Labor Day weekend. While we enjoyed the hotel and thought it was extremely clean, despite the reviews I have read, I do believe it was overpriced at $252.99 for a family suite that consisted of two beds in a room, a jacuzzi tub and a fold-out couch. It was extremely close to Holiday World, which we loved. We would ...
