Location and personnel were great and helpful. Enjoyed the accommodations and the meals. The view from our room was over the rooftops of the city. Get a corner room if possible.

Nice hotel. They were not flexible on the check-in time and after flying all night it would have been nice to check-in and get settled in befor 3:00. Close to nice places to dine. We loved the place called Breck; you can get coffee or a meal for very little money.

Worst 4-Star Hotel in all of Europe
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/04
We stayed in the Carlton's top level suite for four nights during our September honeymoon. I expected much more than I received. Staff was reasonably friendly. We ...

OK, but could be better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/04
My daughter and I stayed at this hotel in Venice in June 2003. The room was very small, not even a good place to set our luggage. The room was fairly gaudy in appearance. We got bitten by mosquitos every day, even after spraying with bug spray (given to us by the staff). The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was good, located right on the Grand Canal. Our window faced a rather grungy alleyway.
Their writeup claims they have 100 windows facing the hotel, implying that most rooms faced the canal, which is not true. I counted 54 windows on all four floors. Most rooms, I saw only 4, were small, even by Europian standards. Mine was about 7 feet by 12 feet and the twin beds were foot to foot. There was not a comfortable chair to sit in. ...
