The rooms (and breakfast) are small and basic, OK for an economy hotel. The staff was nice. Great location near transportation, reasonable restaurants and Hyde Park. Problem? Bedbugs. My wife was bitten badly, and we may have brought them home. Can't speak for the whole hotel, but don't stay in room 446.
What I disliked about this hotel was that when we came back from our tours around london, we saw that our rooms were not clean. The hotel had very poor service regarding housekeeping, they didn't do what they were supposed to.
The concerige was great though... They had opportunities for the tourists to have a tour around the different ...
The hotel was located near Kensington Palace and across the street fom Hyde Park. The tube and 2 bus stops are 2 blocks from the hotel and are quite convienient. London is huge and I made the mistake of thinking it was a lot smaller but I was wrong. You can expect a lot of walking to all attractions. There are a handful of attractions that are ...

Fleas/bedbug in the hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/07
Three things I disliked with this hotel: 1) They had fleas/bedbugs in the hotel. Two of us get a lot of bites (big red dots) in the face, arms etc. when we slept. 2) Some of us had trouble with the key cards. 3) They said that we could pay with Diners Card but it didn’t work. They said is must be something wrong with our cards, but it is strange ...
I was impressed with the night crew at the front desk, I think their names were Irwin & Billy, in the middle of the night, my daughter felt ill and these 2 guys were extremely amazing, until now I still think about what if it happenned on day shify. The reason I said this is because, the girl who checked us in on July 22, 2005 seemed nice at first ...

A work in progress

I just returned from a stay in this hotel. I booked the room over the internet so I got a pretty decent price. The room was a very small but non-smoking single. The bath was a good size and clean but the hotel, at least the floor I stayed on and the breakfast area were in the process of undergoing a much needed renovation. The wall paper was ...

Good location, OK Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/04
We just came back from a week long stay at this hotel and all in all, we did have a good experience. However, we did request a newly remodeled room and we were given one on the 3rd floor. They were in the process of remodeling the other floors but it sounds like the newer rooms are much nicer if you can get one. The breakfast was basically a ...

Unhelpful Service, Run Down interior.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/04
The roomsRooms were small, lobby smelled of cigarettes, furniture and carpeting was run down. After a long day of dragging our luggage around we found our hotel, it was in a good location from outside it looked nice, but it was down hill from there.
The room key they gave us didn't work.. I had to go down to the lobby 3-4 times before ...
As others have noted, the renovated rooms (on the first three floors) are much better than those that have not been renovated. We switched from one of the higher floors after the first night, and after that were very pleased with the room. The breakfast is terrible, so don't bother, and also don't think that anyone on the staff is going ...
