Will never stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/07/08
We stayed at the Frontenec for five nights and was very disappointed with the condition of the lobby and the personnel at the hotel. The restaurant personnel was far from polite and the food was below standard. We reported to the staff that we had a barking dog in the room immediately adjacent to our room and the matter was never remedied. We love Quebec City and plan on returning but would never consider the Frontenec again.
Completely disillusioned. Pokey, dark and dingy hotel with supecilious staff. Small rooms with chintzy wallpapers, small bath, no internet, horribly expensive parking, and staff that wanted $30 for a microwave for our special food needs. I have stayed in 10 hotels in Canada over the last fortnight and this was number 2 from the bottom after Howard ...

For first time visitors, THE ONLY place to go!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/08
This hotel is centrally located and in the thicke of things. You can see ice-breakers on the St. Lawrence in the wintertime, sledge down the tracked hills, and drink real hot chocolate while holding mittened hands. It's the perfect romantic spot to go. We go back every year for our anniversaire!

We loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/07
We loved everything that there was to the hotel and what it had to ofer to us. it was so clean and lots of friendly people that we met
Stayed here recently, an experience. Lovely building, way too much going on. Reminded me of the Del Coronado in San Diegeo, overwhelming. Room was OK, not great, service was friendly. Paid $380/night for a room and when I went to the business center to check email, they wanted $5/15 minutes. Give me a break, no one likes to be nickled and dimed, ...
The location is perfect, and the service was excellent. Areas of hotel are under renovation, which detracts from the beauty, but renovation is necessary.
Inside Old Quebec City, the hotel is convenient to the river, the Citadelle, the restaurants, and all the sites to see in Old Quebec.

Chateau Frontenac is convenient and historic but beyond that is only slightly above average. I stayed at this hotel with my family for the Christmas holiday. My best decision was booking a studio room for the space. Bedding and decor wasn't anything to write home about. Bathroom was kind of small. I did have a nice view of the river and ...
I loved my stay in this hotel!! Yes it's pricy but it's worth it. It's located inside the old city so you have great access to the place. The hotel itself is beautiful and has all the commodities. Totally 5 star!!
