  • Good and Bad.... But Close To Home
    By Brian&TonyaB, 02/14/09
First of all let me say that I wrote this review to give our experience at Mountaineer and hopefully it is not just one sided. I got tired of reading all negative reviews just because someone went to a casino and lost some money. Really! Holy sh*t! Thought it was an ATM…

  • Not Going Back!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/09
When you put 20+ dollars into a machine and get a cherry for a whopping 75 cents, you know its real bad. I knew the machines were tight the last time we went but now there is no chance at all. They used to announce winners, the day and night we were there not one announcement. The whole place smells like a nasty cigar. Windsor is 100 times better. ...

  • The payouts have become the worst!
    By Gary, 12/21/08
Mountaineer has officially become the worst! Ted won't have to worry about the bad economy soon. My wife and I have been going to Mountaineer for about the last 7 to 8 years and we have spent alot of money there. I have never really won anything, but my wife has won a little to keep us going here and there. Since the table games went in, it is ...

  • Don't Bother!!!!!
    By Got Smart Marie, 12/08/08
Worst payouts anywhere!! When you have to put $50-$60 in a penny machine to get a bonus spin and only get $2-$3 back you know you might as well leave. If you go there with $100 to spend you'll be out of money fast but if you don't care about money this is the place for you! Lately the place has been DEAD and there have been ...

  • Don't be discouraged by the bad reviews
    By Sheryl, 11/12/08
We had never been to Mountineer & just decided to take a road trip. I was concerned because of the reviews I read, but we had a very nice time. The room and indoor pool were very clean. The room was nothing special but reasonably priced, cozy & comfortable. I never saw the dirty, smoky, rude. We played 2-4 hold-em poker & everyone ...

  • We Love Mountaineer
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/08
We live about an hour away and enjoy the drive to Mountaineer. I play the slots and my husband plays craps.I enjoy the variety of machines. We have never had a bad experience at Mountaineer. You can't expect to win every time, that's why they call it gambling. We usually eat at the Gatsby. The food is good and the prices are ...

  • You call this a Casino????
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/08/08
I have been to many casinos around the country and this casino is by far the worst one I have ever visited. It is dirty, small, smokey, unpleasant, filled w/old foggies, drinks you pay for, tight slots, terrrible table games, unattractive waitresses, unintelligent dealers, next to nothing comps, and awful awful food. This place looks like it was ...

  • THEY ARE TO TIGHT
    By Jim V, 09/08/08
I've played all over the country, a lot in Vegas and Shrevesport, LA. The mountaineer has the tightest machines I have ever played! Drive the extra miles to a casino who has some winners. Just notice the lack of clinking, bells or flashing lights, that you hear and see in other casinos.

  • Love Mountaineer!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/08
This is our favorite casino--not that we're big-time gamblers, but it's close (90 minutes), clean, and everything is convenient on the gambling floor--lots of restrooms close by (couldn't say that about Tri-State and Argosy), lots of restaurants and GREAT FOOD, and good promotions to even those who play the smallest amount in the ...
