I stayed here two years ago and the rate matched what I saw online. Just called today after seeing a rate of $70.00 and was told $149.00 when I called. For that price, I'll stay in a actual "hotel"

Long time customer

For years we have stayed at this hotel on our long journey from Florida to Lake Ariel in PA. We arrive with grandchildren, a dog and hungry bellies. The pet friendly policy of this hotel has long been appreciated. Rooms are always clean and neat, the staff has always been gracious and welcoming. We order "delivery" from a local Italian ...

Dissatisfied Customer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/09
I reserved a room at Travelodge. When I arrived, Travelodge said they had arranged for me to stay at the 1863 Inn of Gettysburg because Travelodge had overbooked. When I checked in at the 1863 Inn, the person at the desk said that Travelodge would be paying for my room because that was the policy when they overbooked. She took it off of my credit ...

visitors beware! The walk on scam
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/09
made our reservations 2/09 requesting 2 rooms side by side as we had a special needs person with us. Also one room close to our companions. Upon arrival we were told that the only available rooms were two, not side by side, but across the hall somewhere. In addition, our room was not near our companions but IN ANOTHER BUILDING! Our pleas went ...

Great Location and price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/07
The location is on the edge Cemetary Ridge. You can literally walk to the Gettysburg Visitors Center and there are also very nice shops in very easy walking distance ( as in you won't finish your morning coffee to walk to ) The rooms are clean and well kept. Just a hint , insist a room on the BACKSIDE of the hotel. This Holiday Inn is right on ...

Avoid the Annex
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/01/07
Our room was in the annex building, just to the rear of the main hotel building (alongside the pool). Although the king room was large and the bathroom was nice - the walls were paper thin. The couple in the next room was having a conversation in normal tones and we could hear it plainly. Fortunately we had these quiet neighbors for the two ...

you can walk all over town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/07
it's located near all the sites. you can park your car in the lot and walk into town and not miss a thing to see.i like it that you don't have to go out for anything it's all there in the hotel.i have recommended this place to many others who have stayed there and wil return again.
Reserved room for $69 a night over the phone 2 weeks in advance. Upon arrival I checked in with my Visa debit card. Wasn't til lunch when i realized they charged me an extra $50 a night for incidentals. This was not told to me over the phone or at the time of check-in. So off the back my vacation started $150 in the hole. No microwave or mini refrigerator in room as mentioned on website.
The staff was exceptionally nice. Tiffany was in training and Jessica the manager went out of their way to help us with anything we asked. They made us feel as if we were the only people staying there. I have never had such friendly helpful people like these 2 were. We will stay there again.
