My husband and I took a long weekend getaway to this area and decided to enjoy a couples massage. We did not stay at the resort but the atmosphere and service at the Spa was top notch! The massage was great! Beth and Trish did a wonderful job of making us both feel comfortable and relaxed and the renovated homestead that is converted into the spa had a very unique feel to it...not your typical spa! Highly recommend it!

Look forward to returning

The attendant at the front desk was very helpful to make sure we had all we needed when we arrived since we got there after the front desk was closed. We stayed in a fireplace suite and were very happy with the room. There was a fireplace in the room and on the deck beside the hot tub. Everything was sharp and very clean. In the morning the ...

Rejuvenating
By jonnieshumate, 02/25/08
My wife and I really found the resort to be refreshing to us as a family and a couple. When we walked into the loft that we were staying at we both were in awe of such a beautiful and refreshing environment. Every thing about our loft was wonderful: the fire place in side and out, the hot tub, the tranquility, and the friendly helper at the front ...

Nice place
By lewisaustinmcneely, 02/25/08
My wife and I stayed their about a month ago and really enjoyed it. The room was very nice with two fireplaces and a hot tub. The furnishings were appropriate for a mountain resort and the surroundings were very beautiful. it was raining when we were there so we did not get to hike or really explore the location but from what we did see it was very nice. I would certainly recommend.

Absolutely First Class
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/14/08
Absolutely first class resort. My wife and I have traveled quite a bit and have enjoyed some of the best resorts and restaurants in the world. The restaurant at Nantahala Village was truly outstanding. We loved the privacy of the individual cabins, especially the private hot tub on the porch. The swimming pool was extra nice and clean. We would definitely like to stay at Nantahala village again.

Not impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/07
I guess it depends on what you're used to. If you live in a trailer down by the river, this place will seem luxurious. However, if you do not like finding a louse comb in between the cushions of your couch, this may not be the place for you.
We stayed in a 4 bedroom home in the resort which had been the former location of the spa. First, ...

Not so great
By m0mmy3, 11/24/07
My husband and I booked this resort so that we could take our three young children (2, 5, 6) to the Polar Express train ride out of Bryson City. We booked a two bedroom treehouse cottage/cabin in early spring, as the holidays tend to book up in the mountains. First of all, let me say, that the cabin really had potential. It had a beautiful view and ...

First Class Lodge and People
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/16/07
The Resort was absolutely first class for a mountain retreat. We have gone back three years in a row and plan to do so for the foreseeable future. We have stayed in their five star condo type rooms and cabins. We have also checked out their Lodge rooms which are also first class Bread & Breakfast like. Maybe we will stay in the Lodge next time. ...

Stay away off season--expect evangelical religion
By ltownsendltownsend, 03/17/07
Website shows wonderful attractions and beauty. If you go in off season, expect absolutely no services and no available attractions and no services. Though still $100 plus per night, this resort is virtually closed. Celebrated restaurant was closed most of our stay (available only one dinner and one breakfast), room cleanup service is not ...

Had a great week
By ruznews, 08/05/06
Stayed in one of the cabins with a large family group. They had very good service and the food at the lodge is excellent! Nice pool and fun game room. Ladies loved the spa for pedicures - ask about the haunted house!
