We absolutely love the Wellington. It is in a central location. You can walk to Central Park and Times Square. We can't wait to go back.

Filthy on Fifth Floor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/07
The room was extremely unclean and appeared not to have been used for a very long time. I contacted the front desk on 5 occasions that afternoon and evening to secure some towels, 2 pillows, and a working hair dryer. In addition, “Mike” the person on duty at 11:30 p.m. that evening made a personal trip to the room to deliver a hair dryer and ...

Wouldn't go back!

I would not stay here again for sure!! Bad beds, bad pillows. No service and very slow to check in and check out. I had an inclination to put anything valuable in the safe and so glad I did--my bags were totally gone through-turned upside down. Made me feel very violated--did a formal report and have yet to hear anything yet from them!

Balanced Review

Just wanted to add some balance.
I booked this hotel for a 40th birthday and then read some reviews which were mixed.
What a location! 5 minutes from Central Park and 10 from Time Square. You are here because the other Hotels are expensive, yes it is a little dated but it was great for us.
The staff are busy because it is popular for those ...

Traveled her for a school trip. Location was perfect only a few minutes from Times square. The rooms were clean and very nice. enjoyed the stay!
The location is more than perfect! The people are so nice and the hotel is in good conditions. I stayed in a double and the space was perfect. I recommend it for students or torists that want to know the Times Square area.. I totally recommend it!
The best thing about this hotel is the location. I waited for 30 min. for a bellhop to take me to my room, finally gave up and did it myself. It's overpriced in my opinion. I could have stayed at the Roosevelt (a MUCH nicer hotel with WAY better service) for less than what I paid at the Wellington. Don't let the descriptions of ...

Reasonable hotel in good location

Very small (typical of NYC), very plain, adequate, great location, with smooth and efficient service at the front desk. One window shade would not stay down, but the draperies provided enough substitute cover. Seemed to attract larger groups.

Heater wasn't working in the first room...got moved to another room, where the internet service wasn't working. The breakfast is awful. rooms are dirty. service wasn't great either ... I was freezing in my room ... had to call three times to get someone to look into it.

Best bet in town

My friends and I have been coming to NYC in January and July for restaurant week for the past 5 years. We have always stayed at the Wellington Hotel and it just keeps getting better.
The staff is polite, accommodating and courteous. They have a can do attitude.
You can not beat this location. We were centrally located to the finest ...
