We loved our stay here, especially the Southwestern decor. Very easy walking to Old Town and the many, interesting museums along Mountain Road. We too found the restaurant average, especially for the prices, so if you want good New Mexican fare...try the Little Anitas at the NW entrance into Old Town from Rio Grande Blvd. (exit off of I-40).
The rooms were wonderful and the restaurant tasty. Front desk helpful.Close to Old Town for a nice stroll. Try the Breakfast Burito-mmm good and spicy with green chile.
Warning - do not use a card to reserve, then pay cash. The hotel charged our card anyway, (so we paid double) and now we are having a heck of a time getting credit on our account. I've spoken to at least 3 different people and each one states that is will take ~48 hours for our account to be credited - it's been 5 days since the first call and still no credit.
We stayed over Christmas and had a good time. I liked the hotel but I must say the service in the restaurant was awful. The food was good although expensive but again the service was far from desirable. I don't understand why they don't have free internet service. All the smaller cheaper places do now.
I think this is a fun place for adults and children. its easy to get around. Theres gifts shops bars and ect. If you want to meet there chef when you go eat there just ask for chef Tony Trujillo. He is very nice.
