The outside of the hotel is lovely. The lobby and lounge are beautiful. The shops downstairs are great. The location is handy if you're only visiting to shop & eat downtown. And that's where the good review ends.
The rooms are dark and cramped. The ventilation system in our room didn't work probably and was never fixed ...
Watch out. Buyer beware. While the location is great, the devil is in the details. We paid extra for a "Vista" room that I understood would have some sort of view and a balcony. My wife called in advance and asked the hotel about the views and was excited about what she was told. Our room was of modest size, our view was of an air ...

Hotel resevervations for higher price talked us into room with view of town and a balcony. View was block by stone wall and by roof. Stand on toes and could see sky. Room disappointing for price. Sink had no place to set anything. No lights by bed. TV did not work. Room very noisy. In summary, overpriced and there are definitely better places to stay in Santa Fe.
We try to go to Santa Fe as often as possible and were very excited to stay at the Loretto! To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We checked in after 5:00 PM and were told that they could not find our reservations and once that was cleared up we were asked to wait for a few minutes while our room was readied. Okay - even though ...
It was a very nice hotel and has nice and clean rooms. My family and I LOVED how the hotel was by a lot of things like the square and that we didnt have to use our car at all.

Incredible!

We held our June 2008 wedding here and it was absolutely wonderful! The service, food and decor were outstanding and the location made it a perfect setting for our guests to gather both before and after events. The hotel is under new and MUCH more professional management, so there were a few signs of repair/construction around the hotel as they ...

Great Property, Great Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/11/08
The hotel is terrific. The exterior when you pull up looks just like a pueblo. The concierge told me that it is reminicent of the Taos Pueblo. The service was wonderful and the newly remodeled rooms are very nice as well. My only complaint about the rooms was that they were dark.
The location is just two blocks from the square and is perfect. IT is right next to the Loretto Chapel.
Work was being done on the hotel and the floor we were on was bare, plastic on the hall rug and workman in the hall. Maid service missed several things...the room was an adjoining room and we could hear the conversations in the next room without trying. The decor was tacky. I expected more for the $300 a night room we had...won't go back there nor recommend it.

Looking forward to our next visit.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/08
I've been at the Loretto many, many times, with friends and family. Each visit has been very comfortable. The rooms are always clean and comfy and the staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. The location is acceptional - close to shops and restaurants. We have never stayed anywhere else except the Inn at Loretto. They usually have lowkey entertainment in the lounge...very nice. We're coming back in March.

It is a great get away

I love the location and the design of the rooms. The exterior as well as the interior are very impressive. It feels like home. Great for a romantic get away.
