Not only will they make you wait till 400pm to check in but they also advise you to book the night before if you need to be in your room at say 200pm. plenty of hotels that let you check in earlier and at least pretend they care about ya.

Perfect destination wedding in New Hampshire
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/09
Our stay was very enjoyable and comfortable. My son had his wedding reception at the Margate and most of the 200 guests stayed there as well. Everything was just as we hoped, if not better. A perfect place to have a "destination" wedding in New Hampshire.
Very affordable, Superior Resort. Great Service, Very Polite Staff, Great Food, lots to do, Great Location, we will be back next year!

Beautiful and Peaceful

Stayed there Aug 1st thru Aug 8th, had a great time. Been to the lakes region many times and the Margate is the best place we've ever stayed at... with all its amenities, very well maintained, convenience of beach restaurant/bar, indooor pool and gym/spa, breakfast and of course the ducks. Staff is very friendly and keeps the place immaculate. Plan on going back soon!

Had a wonderfiul time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/09
We brought our 5 yr old grandaughter for a short vacation and she didn't want to leave the resort. Everything she loved to do was right there. She swam in the pools, the lake, chased the ducks and would have been happy to skip Santa's Village and other area attractions. We had a lakeview room and it was spotless. The staff was always ...

Stayed lakeside-clean room-would like to see a flat screen TV. Nice friendly staff- Eating at the bar was a challenge -need some work here-food at hotel just not good for a quality lodging place-but there are a lot of good restaraunts in driving distance. Will be back in the fall

loved it all!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/09
The location on the lake is perfect with a beautiful view. The rooms are neat as a pin. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had our class reunion there over the weekend and I can't say enough nice things about the Margate and the people who work there!
I booked a room a couple of days ago and then a family emergency came up and I tried to cancel, thinking maybe they would forgive half of the bill. The manager informed me that they couldn't budge on their seven day cancellation policy even though I hadn't had reservations for that long. So much for decency. This place does say much about hospitality in NH and I'm from NH.

A great place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/24/08
We just came back from a 4 day stay at the Margate. It was a great location and the staff was very friendly and helpful! I would not hesitate (and have already booked for next year!). One suggestion is to eat early as the kitchen closes promptly at 9pm and the chance to eat even snacks after that time is nil. Other than that it was great.

Successful wedding
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/07
Our family recently held a wedding at the Margate Resort. Since we are from out of Town we had a very large number of our guests that stayed at the hotel for the weekend. The weekend was a very big success. Our guests looked at it as a mini vacation. We received compliments from everyone. The service was great from the Hotel and the people ...
