We checked in on A Friday night, not too bad! The hotel and casiono seemed to be clean. The room was very generic. Our king bed was probably 2 feet from the ground, hard as a rock and had visable springs poking out! There are three pillows on a king bed, one pillow felt like it was a blanket wrapped up in a pillow case. And best of all...our shower ...
We stayed at the Sands for the second time during Street Vibrations. This hotel caters to bikes. They blocked off the entire parking lot for us, offer a 24-hr guard, Beer Garden, Live Music, and wet-tee shirt contests. We liked the idea of parking our bikes and walking to the down-town events because we could drink and not worry about driving. The view of the city is nice and bikes is impressive, but I preferred my view of the mountains.

Double charged for room!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/09
Besides the fact they double charged me for the room, it was stinking of old cigarette smells, stained carpets, torn upholstery. hard bed, thin pillows, very slow elevators, when you pay cash for the room they then bill you on your credit card...very sneaky! I did win on the Black Jack table-that's why I paid cash for the room!
I stayed in the Sands in October...we had excellent service. We had our disabled brother with us, and the service and help we got were out standing. We will return soon. You can't beat this place.

Cheap is what you get
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/07/09
the Sands is in need of everything. If cheap is what you want then thats what you get. Mels dinner is the only place to eat. The rooms & bedding smell. Yes they have bed bugs. No coffee pots, No hot water when ever you try to take a shower. Stayed four night for New Years 2009. They didn't even give you a party hat. Good luck getting a ...
I was not excited about staying here based on the reviews I read. But, you can't beat $24 for a bed and shower. As soon as I walked into the room I was impressed. It was on the 16th floor and the view was AMAZING. The staff were kind and friendly, taking time to answer all of my questions. The room was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with ...
To be fair, I can't comment on the accomodations as I've never stayed there. However, based upon the casino, I never will. First of all, the casino looks decayed. The rugs are stained, several of the machines I tried to play didn't work, there were cigarette burns everywhere, the upholstery on some of the chairs was torn and the entire ...
