when you stay here you get what you pay for. its a nice hotel for a good price, it has a pool, many places to eat at and a decent casino. now that they completed the train track project, the noise isn't a problem. i would definitely stay here again.
I didn't like this place at all there was bugs in my room crawing on the walls and drapes I checked out the next morning.

The Sands was good second time around. The rooms were nice. There was a smoke smell in the hallways but smoke comes up with the elevators. the price on the rooms was good. the elevators were slow even in the other towers. wouldn't eat here because the places aren't very good. the pool was nice. would go back in the summer.
The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.

Great Stay

The Sands was great. The rooms were new and large. The rooms were very clean, better than I expected. I heard the place was worse than it was. Service was great check in was slow(they weren't done cleaning the room). The location was great close to the other casinos. The pool was great it was a little small but still good. It was a good place and some of the other reviews are wrong.

Will go again

It was a great hotel. The room was large and clean. The only exception were a few stains on the floor. The Elavator was a little slow. Mel's was good. Would go even if not staying. It was just remodled. I live in reno and heard remodling was just completed. I recomened it to others.
This is one of the cheapest hotels in the Reno area. They offer most of the amenities that the other hotels in the area offer at a better price. I had a problem with my card reader in my room and they quickly resolved the issue and moved me to a better room for my inconvenience. The hotel is located 1 block from the downtown area and seems to draw a more mature crowd.
We stay at the Sand's at least twice a month. I like to play bingo and the Sand's has the best bingo palor. Very friendly staff who treat you nice and make you feel welcomed. The rooms are clean and very big. The motel staff greet you every morning with a smile. There are great restaurants at the Sand's, great choices. It is a complete vacation hotel, or weekend get away without the expense of other hotels.
