We went this last weekend and the hotel was terrible. The rooms are old/ugly. We arrived at the hotel around 10:00am. The desk told us our room would be ready at 12:30pm and we weren't able to get in until almost 3:00pm. When we did get into our room the air conditioner did not work. We asked the desk about it but the only solution was to ...
We go to Reno about 5-6 times a year, and always stay at the Sands. Like Fuzio's restaurant for dinner, and Mel's for breakfast. I've found the Sands to be the best value in Reno.
It is certainly not a pretentious place, but it represents a good value. The staff is helpful and friendly, and although the food available is plain, it also represents a good meal at a fair price.
This modest hotel has always been well managed, and it keeps its promise of providing a place worth returning to again and again I have stayed in ...
The elevator got stuck with people in it, and that was not fun. The machines are some of the tightest I've seen. While the room was clean enough, it had a distinct odor of roach bait in the halls and rooms. The housekeepers were very prompt in bringing additional pillows that we needed, due to the fact the 3 that were provided for the king ...
My husband and I go to Reno for a week every couple of months. We use our player's comps and get free rooms at most hotel/casino's in Reno. While we don't get free rooms at the Sands, we have been offered low rates on rooms with free play. However, even at free, it wouldn't be worth it. We've tried it three times and have ...
We went ski at lake tahoe and stayed at the hotel for one night. Nothing fancy about the room, but good enough for us for one night sleep. It's got one hard and one soft pillow on each bed, while most hotel gives only soft pillows. With the price i paid ($24+tax) on weekday, it's a great value. The lady at front desk was also friendly and ...

Booked on line. Got two nights for $25. Liked it so much called Yahoo travel and got another night for $25. The room was big and clean. Bathroom was spotless. Looks like the hotel has had a recent facelift. It looks better from the inside than out. Everything worked fine. Mel's diner is inside and was great. I don't know why anyone would ...
Hotel looked okay from the outside. When we arrived at the Registration, we were given the keys to our room and told, "Make a left at the BlackJack table" and nothing else. The employee didn't tell us which elevator to take or what floor our room was on.
I enjoyed the complimentary spa. It had a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. This ...
The prices are affordable, food is great and the staff was courteous and efficient. The staff wa polite and accomodating, doing all the could to make our stay great. The room was really comfortable and the atmosphere was fun and lively. Even the other guests seemed to be friendly. I would recomend this hotel to family and friends.
