The Hotel itself is very elegant however, the rooms werent much to look at. I expected a lot more. The rooms were more like a days inn room. Very Small bathrooms, decor was lacking a lot, and the walls were very thin. You could hear all the talking in the next room. Now the good:Hotel employees were very nice and the hotel is in a great location. The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever had in a hotel.

Beautiful hotel with great history. Room was small and had a poor view. Feather pillows, yuck! It was very clean and was in walking distance to many Chicago attractions.
Well, when I checked in, the type room(s) I had reserved were not available so we were given an "upgrade". But, it appeared to be a typical room. They also promised the "upgrade" would have two bathrooms but didn't. Over all, I was somewhat displeased because I have fond memories of the Palmer House.
I thought this was a very beautiful hotel, we were here for a infant/toddler conference. The staff was very polite and very helpful, I recommend this to anyone.
I enjoyed my stay at the Palmer house. It is right next to the art institute and close to the theater district. I was in Chicago on business but was able to enjoy some of the city from this hotel.
There was some construction going on for the remodel that is projected to last until late 2007, but aside from some noise during the day it is hard ...

I have stayed in the Palmer house over 100 days in the last year.
I guess you can say I have stayed in about every room type they offer and there is a big difference between them. Some rooms are so small you can barely get out of bed and others have a full kitchen, multiple bath rooms, Multiple rooms (bed, living, etc). All things considered it is a good hotel. The rates are not rock bottom but are reasonable ...

If you want a good downtown hotel in a great location this is the place. Went in for Easter weekend and it was definitely the time to go as the hotel was not crowded at all. We never had to wait for an elevator and it was very quiet. Our room was clean and spacious. The price was right at $98 a night and the check-in took only minutes. We would definitely go back as it was so centrally located for loop shopping and museums.

Don't let the rates fool you.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/11/07
Wonder why the room rates are lower than other downtown hotels? That's because they make up for it in other ways. Even the cheap no-tell motels offer free internet access from their lobby computer. Here it's $4.95 for the first 15 minutes. $1.50 for a local phone call. Forget the restaurant. $4.95 for toast. $5.00 for a glass of OJ and ...

Concierge needs more training
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/07
First, the concierge gave us bad directions to the bus terminals which put us at the end of the line instead of the beginning and made us late for our convention. On the second occasion, we needed to get to a restaurant in Greektown and they noted a bus route that only exists during special events (Route 19). Thirdly, the concierge noted that we ...
